EGTL isn’t something you talk about. It’s something you ignite.

Sun, Oct 25|The day after the conference|A one-time, small-group workshop

Four hours with the co-originators of The Four Forces — where you grasp EGTL by living it, not hearing about it.

In an age when AI delivers “the answer” in an instant, what carries us through a complex, brittle world is neither the individual nor the algorithm — it is a generative team. So where does a mere group of individuals become a true collective? And what ignites that shift?

This is not a session about EGTL. Inside a small-group virtual simulation, you will experience — in your own body — the shift from “me” to “we.” A debrief grounded in an Action Learning Process then helps you discover, in your own words, how the four forces — intent, hope, care, and love — and the trust that binds them actually move a team.

And the question goes further: what becomes possible when we bring this humanity into our organizations — and what do we lose if we don’t?

Three reasons this isn’t a typical workshop

  • You don’t learn it — it happens. A mindset shift lands when you live it, not when it’s explained.
  • You leave with a tool. A simple device for tracking emotion and the growth of trust — the “connective tissue” of a team — usable the very next day.
  • Small by design. Ideally six per group, so an Action Learning debrief built on equity of voice goes well beyond surface-level insight.

What you’ll actually do

The workshop follows an inductive, discovery-based style — mirroring EGTL’s own core elements of emergence and generativity. It is anchored by a small-group simulation and guided by a meta-cognitive tool for tracking emotion and the development of trust.

  • Introduction & context-setting — facilitators, topic, and the activity ahead.
  • Virtual simulation, in small groups — in groups of ideally six, you work through a series of decision-making dilemmas, living the shift from “me” to “we” in all its non-linear ambiguity and difficult choices, while a simple tool helps you track the four socio-emotional forces and the development of trust.
  • Break
  • Debrief — a sense-making discussion using an Action Learning Process: personal discovery and real-world application, exploring how EGTL and the four forces ignite humanity on team-led teams and within organizations.
  • Q&A and putting it into practice — time to ask the facilitators directly, and to translate the experience into concrete next steps for your own team and client work.

Throughout, the pace stays unhurried — a benefit of the small-group format.

Take-aways

  • A head-and-heart understanding of how the four socio-emotional forces are ignited
  • Insight into the link between trust and the growth of a generative, team-led team
  • A lived experience of the shift from “me” to “we”
  • A simple tool for recognizing and tracking the four forces and the development of trust
  • Recognition of the power of the Action Learning Process for emergence in uncertainty

Who it’s for

Action Learning coaches, OD practitioners, and HR and leadership professionals who want to carry EGTL back to their own teams and client work — the first time the two facilitate this experience together in Japan.
